Cooperation with local public libraries
Based on cooperation agreements with local libraries, the City Library in Bratislava offers free registration and use of services to all duly registered users of libraries of the following city districts:
Local Library Karlova Ves, Istra Centrum – Local Library Devínska Nová Ves, Local Library Vrakuňa, Local Library Vajnory, Local Library Záhorská Bystrica, Local Library Ruda Morica in Stupava.

The network of public libraries in Bratislava consists of 17 libraries and their 23 branches, of which 1 is a regional library, 4 libraries with legal personality with the function of a city library, 7 community libraries with a professional employee without legal personality, in which the librarian works at least half time and 5 community libraries with a non-professional employee without legal personality, in which the librarian works less than half time:

Regional library: City Library in Bratislava, managed by the Municipality of the capital of the Slovak Republic – Bratislava, entrusted with the methodological function towards public libraries in Bratislava.

The methodological activity and the coordination of cooperation of the City Library in Bratislava towards public libraries of Bratislava focuses on:
- analysis and assessment of the development of public libraries in Bratislava
- organization of professional events for the employees of public libraries in Bratislava and the Bratislava region
- joint activities in the organization of reading competitions and cultural and educational events
- development of common projects in the field of further education of library staff and in the field of electronization of libraries
- professional and consulting service, providing methodological consultations
